What a minute on Deepgram costs
Cost per minute = the Voice Agent API rate + your phone carrier. Deepgram bills the agent at $0.075/min on websocket connection time. We add Twilio Elastic SIP US local inbound at $0.0034/min and one number at $1.15/month.
Deepgram cost at 500 to 10,000 minutes a month
Scenario (our assumptions, not vendor figures): inbound calls on one US local number; average call 3 minutes; the business needs 10 calls at once; a GPT-4.1-mini-class LLM; each platform's cheapest published voice. Where a platform bills the LLM by token and publishes no per-minute figure, we use Retell's published GPT 4.1 mini rate ($0.0128/min) as a stand-in and label it assumption.

Concurrency and free credit
The Standard tier allows 45 websocket connections at once, so the 10 calls in our scenario add nothing. New accounts get $200 in credit.
Our Deepgram test calls
We have not run billed test calls on Deepgram. This phase records list prices only: no sign-ups and no spend. Until a billed call is logged, the tables above are the sourced model, not a measured invoice.
Is Deepgram worth it?
On our stack, Deepgram is the cheapest ranked platform at every volume we model, because one rate covers the agent and the carrier adds a few tenths of a cent a minute. It is the wrong pick if you want a phone number and carrier handled for you (Retell publishes its Twilio rate) or minutes included in a monthly plan (ElevenLabs Agents).
