xAI charges $0.08/min for Grok Voice 3.0 speech to speech, the same price as Grok Voice 2.0. There is no separate transcriber, LLM or voice line. You bring your own SIP trunk. What a minute on Grok Voice actually costs
Cost per minute = Grok Voice speech to speech + your carrier per-minute rate. The carrier phone-number fee is monthly. Text messages sent into the session and server-side tool calls may add to that.
Speech to speech (includes the LLM)
Grok Voice 3.0 is $0.08/min. It is a single speech-to-speech model with built-in reasoning. The pricing page lists no separate LLM, transcriber or voice charge for these sessions. grok-voice-latest now points to grok-voice-3.0 at the same price.
Text input
Text items sent into a voice session are 0.004 USD per text input. The page doesn't define a text input any further, so we leave it out of the tables.
Tool calls
Server-side tools have their own prices: web search is $5 per 1,000 calls and collections search is $2.50 per 1,000 calls. The page doesn't say how tool calls inside a voice session are billed. Not published for voice; we leave tools out of the tables.
Telephony
Bring your own trunk. xAI does not sell phone numbers through the API. The docs have setup guides for Twilio, Bandwidth, Telnyx and Plivo. Your carrier bills you for minutes and numbers. Twilio Elastic SIP Trunking charges $0.0034/min for US local inbound, from $0.0011/min for outbound, and $1.15/month for a local number. xAI's pricing page lists no telephony or SIP fee, so we show it as not published.
Grok Voice plans
There are no plan tiers. It is usage-based, with Prepaid credits or monthly invoicing. Usage tiers change your concurrency limit, not your price.

Speech to speech is limited by concurrent sessions alone, and tiers never downgrade. A 10-call setup fits at Tier 0 with no extra fee. There is no per-line charge like the one Vapi publishes.
Grok Voice cost at 500 to 10,000 minutes a month
Scenario (our assumptions, not vendor figures): inbound calls on one US local number, average call 3 minutes, and the business needs 10 calls at once. The carrier is a Twilio Elastic SIP trunk. No text inputs and no tool calls. The LLM is included in the Grok Voice per-minute rate, so there is no separate line.

Is Grok Voice worth it?
Grok Voice suits teams that want one flat per-minute rate with the model included, and can run their own SIP trunk. At about $0.085 a minute all-in on our stack, it costs more than the Mistral Small 4 voice agent ($0.04/min, but telephony there is enterprise-only). It is close to the Deepgram Voice Agent API ($0.075/min, checked Oct 27, before telephony). You cannot choose the transcriber, LLM or voice separately.
